  1. hi ruth, we were wondering if you do carryouts ,just like a chip shop,as we have been travelling round with a group of friends on motorcycles, and trying to take in as many chip shops as possible during the summer months. georgie beedie..

    • Hiya Georgie!
Yes, we are a traditional chipper as well as having the restaurant. We already have a few biker groups heading down our way every month and they really enjoy their suppers! The setting is lovely too!
If you guys are organised you can always phone your supper order in and we’ll have it ready and waiting for you when you arrive.
      Hope to see you soon!
      Rxx

  3. DO YOU ALLOW DOGS IN THE RESTAURANT

    • We allow assistance dogs only in the restaurant and takeaway.

  4. Hi, looking to book for a party of 22 for fish and chips, we have an Internment at the Cemetery on the 26 Oct, but I checked your opening times and you are not open on a Monday, can you recommend any other places in Gourdon, thank you in advance, Robert.

    • I would suggest the Harbour Bar in Gourdon, Please contact Bruce & Debbie who would be able to assist.

      • Thank you Ruth, Kind Regards, Robert.

  5. Hello Ruth and Alex
Just to say that I am so sad that you are leaving, you are/were the highlight of the area.
Every good wish for the future.

    • Thank you lovely Norma! I’ve always loved chatting with you and we can catch up on a social level now! Definitely see you for Johnner Fish Festival xx

    • Dear Norma,

I hope this message finds you well and that life is treating you kindly!

Well, the last 6 months have been somewhat of a whirlwind for Alex and me and we are only just catching our breath!

After selling HOrnblowers, we went to SAfrica, London and Los Angeles for a variety of different reasons – family gatherings, funerals, research trips !

For three months we lived in Cape Town looking at opportunities we had scratched the surface of during our previous two visits earlier in the year.

I can now report that we have secured a lovely restaurant unit in the centre of Cape Town and will be launching a lovley seafood restaurant in early March 2017.

We are back in the UK (up and down to London/Edinburgh) to sort things out here (renting our house, immigration for ourselves and our cat etc etc) and then we plan to move to Cape Town in mid December!

I thought I’d send you a quick message to give you the update and follow up with a call to chat it all through!

Think of you often and sending best wishes and love
      RUTH xx

  6. oh Ruth & Alex, just catching up on your news. Wow , South Africa – lucky them. Good luck , stay in touch. We can’t ever forget you wonderful Hornblowres, Love Gabrielle and Adrian, now in Manchester G.Ivinson@mmu.ac.uk

    • Hello lovely people! What a fab message and so happy to hear from you! Really hope life is treating you both extremely well and you are loving Manchester! We moved to Cape Town (after quite a bit of research) on 1st January and aim to open our new restaurant SeaBreeze in early April. It will be a seafood offering and we hope the Capetonians will love what we do as much as Aberdeenshire! I can really recommend South Africa for a holiday! Alex has a telescope and it does make me think of Adrian’s rocket for some reason!! Of course we’ll stay in touch, so lovely to hear from you. Lots of love Ruth xx( ruthagrahame@gmail.com) xx
