Hornblower's Letterbox 2It is with heavy hearts that we write to tell you that as of this week, we’ll be placing the lease for Hornblower’s restaurant and takeaway in Gourdon on the market.

We wanted to write to you all to tell you personally along with thanking each and every person who has visited us over the last five years. Without the support of our loyal customers, we simply wouldn’t have been able to fulfil our dream of running the restaurant and for that we will always be grateful.

When we took over the restaurant and takeaway in 2010, little did we know just how much we’d fall in love with not just our work but with Gourdon itself. From the stunning view out across the water to the stories and friendships we’ve formed with our regular customers, to taking pride in how hard our staff have worked throughout the years, we will leave with so many fond memories of our time within the village.

However, for now, it is business as usual as while we wait for a suitable buyer, the restaurant and takeaway will continue to operate as normal. We’d love to continue to welcome you to Hornblower’s for your favourite dish.

You may have also read recently about our plans for our new venture at Aberdeen Beach and we’ll be announcing further details once they are confirmed. But rest assured, we’ll continue to offer many of the things people love about Hornblower’s. From the friendly atmosphere, to the best, fresh Scottish produce from both sea and field, we’ll endeavour to keep the spirit and ethos behind the restaurant and takeaway. It’s an exciting time for us and when we open next year, we’d be thrilled to welcome you along.

So in many ways this is not a long goodbye, but simply a see you later along with a truly heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of our venture for the last five years. We hope to see you soon,

Alex and Ruth.
